Micro Needling

For about 50 years, micro-needling has been introduced as one of the effective methods of skin rejuvenation, and it has made significant progress during this time. This method is inspired by the ancient techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to keep their skin healthy. Micro-needling is a non-invasive method for facial skin rejuvenation that people of different ages can use. Due to its tangible effects, this low-risk and low-complication method has a very short recovery period and is one of the most popular rejuvenation methods.

Micro-needling helps produce more collagen by stimulating the skin differently. Each of these methods will improve the condition of your skin.

How does micro-needling work

Micro Needling

This unique method uses a wide range of tiny needles on a roller device to create tiny holes in the surface of your skin with minimal damage and increases collagen production. The needles in this device may be made of glass, silicone, metal, or polymer. This procedure rejuvenates and smoothes the skin and repairs the damaged tissue.

How to do it

Before performing micro-needling, your face must be completely cleaned and disinfected.

Then the specialist rolls the device with moderate pressure between four and ten times on the desired area or face. Continuing this work for at least two to four minutes with uniform pressure vertically, horizontally, and diagonally is recommended.

In addition, it is better to use some moisturizing serum containing hyaluronic acid on the skin before micro-needling. This helps to hydrate and plump the skin a lot. The number of sessions needed to treat skin damage using micro-needling depends on many factors.

The type of skin, age of the person, type and severity of the injury, and the condition of wound healing in a person greatly impact the treatment and recovery process using micro-needling. For this reason, the doctor first examines the person’s health conditions and determines the number of sessions and the time of each treatment session according to the state.

Types of micro-needling

Micro Needling

There are five different devices for micro-needling

  1. Derma roller

A hand tool with many tiny needles that move in a roller, and its steel needles create minor wounds on the skin.

  1. Derma pen

Derma pen is a pen-like device with a wide and round head. In this round and circular head, many tiny needles are moved on the skin using an electric motor. When the device is turned on, its needles move up and down and inflict more than 18,000 gentle strokes on the skin per minute.

These small openings provide a place for the skin to breathe, stimulate the cells that produce collagen, and repair the skin.

  1. Derma Stamp

The appearance of this device is similar to a derma pen, but the needles at the tip are sharper and have longer needles. Also, this device can be moved manually or by using an electric motor. In this device, the needles enter the skin with a movement similar to stamping, creating holes that help repair skin problems.

  1. RF micro-needling

In this device, a thermal pulse is used instead of a needle. This method is prevalent.

  1. BB Glow micro-needling

In this different method, the needles of the device enter the layers of the skin and change the color of the skin using vegetable dyes. You can use this method if you want a uniform and bright color foundation.

Can micro-needling be used to solve the problem of hair loss?

Yes. Of course, micro-needling is not inherently a method to solve the problem of hair loss and help hair regrowth. But research has shown that placing the micro-needling device on the scalp and introducing nutrients for hair growth can stimulate the cells that produce hair follicles, thereby strengthening the hair, thickening it, and preventing hair loss. And hair regrowth helped.

Applications of micro-needling

  • Facial skin rejuvenation
  • Removing skin spots and pimples
  • Help to grow hair and eyebrows
  • Removing stitches
  • Lighten the skin
  • Relieving knee stiffness
  • Removing darkness under the eyes
  • Rejuvenation of the skin under the eyes
  • Removing forehead wrinkles
  • Lightening of stretch marks
  • Eliminate skin pores
  • Skin tightening
  • Treatment of dark spots on the skin

Benefits of micro-needling

The most important benefit of micro-needling is increasing skin collagen. Collagen increases the flexibility of the skin and removes fine wrinkles. This non-invasive skin rejuvenation method is much less complicated, and the needles used in it are so gentle and thin that they are also used on the skin around the eyes.

At the same time, using this method will increase the absorption of skin care products up to two hundred times, and there will be no recovery period or pain.
